Wildflower Co. is proud to have contributed to the newly unveiled Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Garden in Regent’s Park – a beautifully designed two-acre space dedicated to the memory of Queen Elizabeth II.
The garden, which officially opened on the 27th April celebrates both reflection and renewal. Inspired by the late Queen’s favourite plants, the planting scheme creates a tranquil, immersive environment for visitors.
A key feature of the project is approximately 2,000m² of Wildflower Turf, grown to order and supplied to Blakedown Landscapes. Developed in collaboration with renowned planting designer Noel Kingsbury and Katharina Erne, and supported by soil specialist Tim O’Hare, the scheme overcame complex site conditions to deliver a thriving, biodiverse habitat.
The result is a remarkable achievement in sustainability, delivering an extraordinary 184% biodiversity net gain. With the site previously occupied by greenhouses, the transformation highlights the powerful role that science-led wildflower solutions can play in restoring nature.
Encircling the central flower bed is a poignant quote from Queen Elizabeth II:
“We all need to get the balance right between action and reflection. With so many distractions, it is easy to forget to pause and take stock.”
Upon visiting the new Royal Garden, James Hewetson-Brown, Managing Director of Wildflower Co. said, “What better place to pause and take stock than when immersed in a wildflower meadow – somewhere that not only offers a moment of reflection, but is also actively supporting biodiversity and restoring balance to the natural environment around us.”
